Origin: A fruity, sweet rum from Discarded Spirits Co. made by infusing Caribbean rum with banana peels, creating a rich, banoffee pie character throughout the palate. Appearance : rich dark luscious brown colour

Nose: Banana bread, treacle, dried fruit, cinnamon, butterscotch.

Tasting Note: Banoffee pie, sticky toffee pudding, milk chocolate raisins, crystallized ginger finish.

Suggested mixer: Delicious served neat over ice, mixed with ginger ale, or used in fruity rum-based cocktails like a Banana Mai Tai or Pina Colada.

‘The Hook’

Rum is aged in casks to impart flavour into the wood in preparation for the final stages of malt whisky maturation. After initial use, this spirit is often sold on or even disposed of. An undiscovered treasure which has now been repurposed to form the base of Discarded’s next fruit-forward spirit. The additional flavour profile comes from an unlikely source, banana peel. As an extract, banana peel provide a fresh toffee note with a fruity balance that perfectly complements the complexity of the base rum. HOW IT’S MADE Aged-Caribbean rum base is blended together with our banana peel extract to produce our award-winning Discarded Banana Peel Rum.
